The Course

Cracking on. *
The summer months have been busy ones for the greens staff whom I must again praise for their team work to complete tasks covering illness, injury and holidays.
We would also like to thank all of our members for their patience and support with contractors and staff working to improve the course.

Greens*
We managed to quickly complete our renovation program swiftly tining down to 175mm to improve air exchange, root depth and water infiltration. Topped with around 1 ton of sand per green and brushed it in to improve smoothness.
Along with regular fertilising, wetting agent and fungicide treatments we are happy with the greens condition going into autumn.

Tees and fairways *
With regular divoting, a fertiliser and a weed spray, the tees and fairways are progressing and much of the damaged areas have now been repaired.

Semi and rough*
Unfortunately the mower we used to cut the semi rough has ripped the grass in parts after a few goes we think we have solved the problem but the damage may take a few weeks to regrow.
We have continued to manage a full cut every week which has been vital as the grass growth has been rapid these last few months.

Drainage
All the sand band work for this year is completed. We will top up and seed the fairway area next month once these areas are settled.
We will look to start some more primary drainage in September in preparation for winter as part of our ongoing programme.

Bunkers *
We have now been able to restock with sand so we will re-start the topping up of bunkers as and when we can.

We hope you all enjoy the course. Thanks.
